Import a manuscript and export EPUB for Kindle
Upload a finished or half-finished manuscript and it becomes chapters you can keep writing and editing. When you are done, export EPUB, Word, Markdown or text for Kindle, Wattpad, AO3 or your editor.
Step by step
- 1
Open Import a manuscript
From your project, open Import a manuscript. You can also choose "I have a finished draft" when you start a new project.
- 2
Upload the file
Accepted formats: .docx, .pdf, .epub, .txt, .md, .csv, .json and .xlsx.
- 3
Choose how to import
Smart Import works out whether the file is story chapters or notes. Import as Chapters makes chapters. Import to Bible adds the file to your Story Bible as notes.
- 4
Keep writing
Pick up where you left off with This chapter or New chapter, or run Edit Mode.
- 5
Export
Open Export and choose Word (.docx), EPUB or Markdown (plain .txt for a single chapter). Set your byline or pen name in Settings, under Exports.
You own your book
Everything you write is yours, and your projects are private to your account. Export any time and publish anywhere. Check your platform’s AI disclosure policy before you publish.
Questions
Can I continue a novel I started somewhere else?
Yes. Import it as chapters, then ask Paige to continue from your latest one. Add your character and world notes with Import to Bible so she knows the story.
Is the EPUB ready for Kindle?
The EPUB export is built for self-publishing platforms like Kindle Direct Publishing. Preview it with the platform’s own tool before you publish.
Can I export for AO3?
Yes. Markdown and Word work well for pasting into AO3 or Wattpad.
