How credits and other writing models work in WriteWithPaige
Paige is included in every plan. On a paid plan you can also write with other writing models, paid per reply with credits. Credits never expire, each reply shows how many it used, and you can switch back to Paige at any time.

Step by step
Step 1: Tap the model chip
Next to the chat box there is a small chip. On a computer it reads “Writing with: Paige”. On a phone it just says “Paige”. Tap it to open the “Writing with” sheet.
Step 2: See your options
“Paige” is at the top with “Included in your plan”. Below it, other writing models are grouped as “Strong all-rounders”, “Most capable” and “Lighter on credits”. Each row has a one-line description and an estimate of credits per reply.
Step 3: Pick a model
Tap a row to choose it. A tick shows your pick. From then on, your Story chat replies use that model until you change it.
Step 4: Add credits if you need them
Tap “Add credits” at the top of the sheet. Choose a pack, or type your own figure under “Other amount”, then pay at checkout. A note confirms “Credits added.”
Step 5: Write as usual
Type what you want and send. Under each reply a quiet line shows which model wrote it and how many credits it used.
Step 6: Switch back any time
Open the chip again and tap “Paige”. Your credits stay in your balance for later.
What credits are for
Paige writes every reply on every plan, and that is included in your price. Credits are only for the times you want a different writing model to try a reply. Each model writes in its own way, so a different one can sometimes get closer to what you have in mind.
Other writing models are for paid plans only. On Free, the sheet says “Other models are available on paid plans.” and each model row says “Available on paid plans”.
Credits do not expire. Using them needs a paid plan, so if your plan ends, your balance waits for you.
The model groups
The sheet sorts models into three groups so you can pick by what matters to you. The exact list changes over time, so check the sheet for today’s choices.
- “Strong all-rounders”
- Good writing at a fair number of credits. A sensible first try.
- “Most capable”
- The strongest writing and reasoning. These use the most credits per reply.
- “Lighter on credits”
- Cheaper replies. Good for quick chats, brainstorming and short scenes.
What a reply costs
Each reply is charged at what it really cost, so a short chat reply uses fewer credits than a full new chapter. Longer chapters and bigger stories use more.
After each reply you see one line, the model and the credits, such as “· 52 credits”. Your full history is in Settings under “Writing models & credits”: purchases, each reply, invite rewards and any refunds.
If your balance is too low for the reply you asked for, Paige writes it instead and the line under the reply says so (“Not enough credits for… so Paige wrote this one.”), with a link to add credits. You are never left with no reply.
Buying credits
Tap “Add credits” in the model sheet, or in Settings under “Writing models & credits”. You see your balance (“You have … credits.”) and the packs. One pack is marked “Most popular”, and bigger packs give you more credits for your money.
For any other figure, type a whole amount into “Other amount” and tap “Buy”. The sheet tells you the range it accepts. Prices show in your local currency where one is supported.
Auto top-up
If you use other models often, turn on “Top up automatically”. It is in the “Add credits” sheet and in Settings under “Writing models & credits”.
Pick a “Pack” and a “Level”, for example “When below 500 credits”. When your balance drops under that level, the card you already have on file is charged for that pack. There is a daily cap: the switch tells you the most times it can run in one day. Turn it off any time.
If your card is declined, auto top-up turns itself off and the next reply tells you once, so you are never charged in a loop.
Rewrite one reply with another model
Some accounts also see a “Rewrite with” button in the row under Paige’s replies (on a phone it is an icon). It opens “Rewrite with another model”. Pick one and only that reply is written again. “Only this reply changes. Your usual model stays the same.”
If you turn down a draft, the card that asks what was off may also offer “Rewrite with” a named model for that one draft.
Credits at your daily limit
Replies on another writing model never use Paige’s daily allowance. So when you run out on a paid plan, you can pick another model and keep writing with credits. The out-of-messages banner shows this as “Keep writing now”.
This works in your stories, not in adventures. It also does not apply while you write with your own AI key, because then your own key pays for the writing.
Where else credits come from
- Invite a writer friend: you can earn up to 6,500 credits per friend, and your friend gets 1,000 when they subscribe. See “Invite a friend”.
- Gifts: anyone can buy you a “Writing credits” pack at /gift. See “Give WriteWithPaige as a gift”.
- If a credit pack is refunded, what is left of that pack is taken back out of your balance.
Questions
Do credits expire?
No. Credits do not expire. Using them needs a paid plan, so if your plan ends they stay in your balance until you subscribe again.
Can I use other writing models on the Free plan?
No. Other writing models are available on paid plans. On Free, Paige writes every reply.
I picked another model. Why did Paige write this reply?
Most often your balance was too low for that kind of reply. The line under the reply says so and has a link to add credits.
Does a reply on another model use my daily allowance?
No. It is paid with credits only. Your Paige allowance is untouched.
Can I use credits while I use my own AI key?
No. With your own key saved, replies go through your provider and are billed to your own account, so credits are not used.
How do I go back to Paige?
Tap the model chip and pick “Paige” at the top. Nothing else changes.
