How to invite a writer friend and earn credits
If you pay for a plan, you can send friends your own invite link from Settings. Your friend gets 1,000 credits when they subscribe. You get 1,000 credits once they have been subscribed for 30 days, then 500 more every 30 days they stay, up to 6,500 credits per friend.

Step by step
Step 1: Open Settings
On a phone, tap “Open menu”, then “Settings”. On a computer, click “Settings” in the left rail.
Step 2: Tap “Invite a writer friend”
It sits just under the Subscription section. It only shows while you have an active paid subscription that is not paused or set to cancel.
Step 3: Copy your link
Under “Your invite link”, tap “Copy link”. On a phone you can also tap “Share” to send it straight to a message app.
Step 4: Edit the message if you like
“Message to send (you can edit it)” has a short note ready. Change it to sound like you, then tap “Copy message”. It says nothing about what you write.
Step 5: Add your first name (optional)
Type it in “Your first name on the invite (optional)” and tap “Save”. Leave it empty and the page your friend sees says “A writer friend”.
Step 6: Watch your stats
The panel counts “Joined”, “Subscribed” and “Credits earned”, and shows when your next credits are due, for example “Next: +500 credits on Nov 22”.
Who can invite
Any writer with an active paid subscription of their own: Starter, Plus, Pro or Ultra. If your subscription is paused or set to cancel, the row is hidden until it is active again.
Business seats and older legacy plans do not get an invite link.
What you and your friend get
Your friend opens your link and lands on a page that says “A writer friend sent you 1,000 credits” (or your first name, if you added it), with a “Claim my 1,000 credits” button. They sign up. The 1,000 credits arrive with their first subscription payment.
- They subscribe
- They get 1,000 credits.
- After 30 days subscribed
- You get 1,000 credits.
- Every 30 days they stay
- You get 500 more credits.
- Over their first year
- Up to 6,500 credits per friend for you.
The fine print, in plain words
- Friends need to be new to WriteWithPaige and sign up with your link.
- If their first payment is refunded or disputed in the first 30 days, you get no credits for that friend, and their bonus is taken back.
- Your next 500 only comes while your friend is still subscribed and paid up. If they cancel, the ladder stops, and there is no back-pay if they return later.
- You keep earning even if your own plan ends. Using credits needs a paid plan.
- Who signed up stays private. You see counts, never names or emails.
What your friend sees
Your link takes your friend to an invite page with your first name (if you added it) and the 1,000-credit offer. They tap “Claim my 1,000 credits” and make a free account. They can write on the Free plan for as long as they like.
When they choose a paid plan, the plans window reminds them: “Your 1,000 bonus credits arrive with your first payment.” Once that payment goes through, the credits land in their balance with a short note, ready for other writing models.
Where the credits show up
Credits land in your balance automatically. A short note tells you, for example “+1,000 credits: your friend has been writing with Paige for a month.” In Settings under “Writing models & credits”, your history lists them as “Invite reward”.
Credits pay for replies from other writing models. They never expire. See “Credits and other writing models”.
Other ways in, and a gift instead
You may also see small invite cards after you buy credits or keep a draft, and an “Invite a friend and earn up to 6,500 credits” link at the bottom of the model sheet. They all open the same panel.
Want to pay for your friend instead? The panel ends with “Or give them a gift” and a “Give a gift” link. See “Give WriteWithPaige as a gift”.
Questions
Why don’t I see “Invite a writer friend” in Settings?
It only shows while you have an active paid subscription of your own that is not paused or set to cancel. Free, gift, Business seat and legacy accounts do not get a link.
When does my friend get their 1,000 credits?
With their first subscription payment. They need to sign up through your link first.
Can I see who used my link?
No. You see how many joined and subscribed, but never who. That stays private.
My friend cancelled. Do I lose the credits I already earned?
No. Credits already in your balance stay. You just stop earning new ones for that friend.
Can I use invite credits on the Free plan?
They stay in your balance, but using credits needs a paid plan.
