How to publish your story on ReadFanFiction from WriteWithPaige
ReadFanFiction is a free fan fiction archive with no ads. From WriteWithPaige you fill in a short form and tap “Send as a draft”. Your story lands on ReadFanFiction as a draft, and nothing goes public until you post it there yourself.

Step by step
Step 1: Open the ReadFanFiction sheet
Open the Export hub (“Export or share this book” at the top of the chapter list) and choose “Publish free on ReadFanFiction”. Paige may also offer it after you finish a chapter, with a card that reads “Ready for readers?”.
Step 2: Connect, or pick a pen name
If you already have a ReadFanFiction account, tap “Connect ReadFanFiction” and sign in there with a code sent to your email. There is no password. If you are new, you may see a “Pen name” box on the form instead, and your account is made when you send.
Step 3: Fill in the form
Check the “Title”, add a “Fandom” (or “Original Work”), pick a “Rating”, tick any “Archive warnings”, choose an “AI label” and write a “Summary”. Open “Characters, relationships and tags” for more tags, and “Chapters” to choose which chapters go.
Step 4: Send it as a draft
Tap “Send as a draft”. When it is done you see “Sent. Review and post it on ReadFanFiction.”
Step 5: Review and post on ReadFanFiction
Tap “Review on ReadFanFiction”. Read it over there, then post it. Readers only see it after you post.
What ReadFanFiction is
ReadFanFiction is a free fan fiction archive. Readers leave kudos and comments, and you can see them back in WriteWithPaige. It has no ads.
The promise on every send is the same: “Free. No ads. Nothing goes public until you post it.” Sending from WriteWithPaige only ever makes a draft on your ReadFanFiction account.
ReadFanFiction is only for writing projects. Brand workspaces do not show it.
Connecting your account
You connect once. After that, any story is two taps away. “Connect ReadFanFiction” opens ReadFanFiction, where you sign in with a code sent to your email. You never type a password into WriteWithPaige.
If you do not have a ReadFanFiction account yet, the form may show a “Pen name” box. Use 3 to 20 letters, numbers, - or _. It checks the name as you type and says “That name is free.” or “That name is taken”. Readers see it on your stories, and you pick it once. Sending makes the account. Already have one? Tap “Already on ReadFanFiction? Connect instead”.
If ReadFanFiction signs you out, you see “Reconnect ReadFanFiction”. Tap it and sign in again.
Every field on the publish form
The form is filled in from your project where it can. Change anything before you send.
- “Pen name”
- Only shown when you are new. The name readers see. You choose it once.
- “Title”
- The story title on ReadFanFiction.
- “Fandom”
- The fandom tag. Tap “Original Work” for your own world.
- “Rating”
- “General”, “Teen”, “Mature”, “Explicit” or “Not rated”.
- “Archive warnings”
- Tick any that apply, or “No Archive Warnings Apply” or “Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings”.
- “Summary”
- The blurb readers see, up to 1,250 characters.
- “Characters, relationships and tags”
- Opens “Relationships”, “Characters” and “Tags”. Tap a suggested chip, or type a tag and press Enter.
- “AI label”
- “AI-assisted” or “AI-generated”. Readers see this label, so they know Paige helped.
- “Chapters”
- Shows how many chapters will go. Open it to untick any you want to hold back.
After you send: review and post
You see “Sent. Review and post it on ReadFanFiction.” and a line that says “It’s a draft on your account. Readers see it once you tap Post.” Tap “Review on ReadFanFiction” to open it, then post it there when it looks right.
If your newest edits had not saved yet, WriteWithPaige saves them first (“Saving your latest edits…”). If saving fails you can tap “Try again” or “Send the last saved version”.
Once a story is on ReadFanFiction, your story list shows its status, for example “Draft on ReadFanFiction · Post it”, or the kudos and comment count once it is posted.
Adding new chapters later
Write more chapters as normal. When some are not on ReadFanFiction yet, the chapter list shows a small line saying so, with “Send”. Open it, or open the ReadFanFiction destination again.
The sheet lists the chapters that are missing (“This chapter isn’t on ReadFanFiction yet:”). Tap the send button and they arrive as a draft on the same story. Readers see them once you post. If every chapter is already there, it says “Every chapter is on ReadFanFiction.”
Connect, reconnect or disconnect in Settings
Open Settings and find “Integrations”. When you are connected it shows “ReadFanFiction: connected as @yourname” and a “Disconnect” button. Tap it, then tap “Tap again to disconnect” to confirm. When you are not connected, the row shows “ReadFanFiction” with “Connect” (or “Reconnect” if you were signed out).
Reading stories inside WriteWithPaige
On a computer, the “Read” button near the bottom of the left rail opens a reading page with stories from ReadFanFiction. You can also go to writewithpaige.com/reading on any device. You need to be signed in.
The shelves are “From WriteWithPaige writers”, “New this week” and “Most kudos”. Use “Search stories” to search titles and summaries, tap a fandom chip to narrow it down, or tick “Hide AI-assisted stories”. Stories open in a new tab on ReadFanFiction, and your kudos and comments go straight to the writer.
Mature and adult stories are hidden until you tick “Show 18+ and Mature stories”. It asks you to confirm you are 18 or older, on each device.
Questions
Will my story go public the moment I send it?
No. It always arrives as a draft on your ReadFanFiction account. Readers only see it after you tap Post on ReadFanFiction.
Does ReadFanFiction cost anything?
No. It is free for writers and readers, with no ads, and it works on every WriteWithPaige plan.
Do I need a password?
No. You sign in to ReadFanFiction with a code sent to your email. WriteWithPaige never asks for a password.
Why do I have to pick an AI label?
Readers see the label, so they know Paige helped. Choose “AI-assisted” if you wrote it with Paige’s help, or “AI-generated” if Paige wrote most of it.
I do not see “Publish free on ReadFanFiction”. Why?
It only shows in writing projects, not Brand workspaces. If you are in a writing project and still cannot see it, the feature may be switched off for a moment. Try again later.
Can I change my pen name later?
The form says you pick it once, so choose a name you are happy to keep. Readers see it on every story you post.
