Story Bible
Every character. Every place. Kept straight.
Paige keeps track of your characters, places, lore and plot arcs as you write, so chapter 30 still matches chapter 3.
Included on every plan, including Free.
Fills itself in
You write. Paige takes notes.
As chapters come in, Paige picks out new characters, places and facts. They wait in the Paige noticed list, where you can add them, edit them first or dismiss them. Prefer it hands-off? Let her update automatically, or only when you ask.
Yours to edit
Your words. Your rules.
Every entry is yours to write and rewrite. Lock one and Paige never edits it or suggests changes. Each entry keeps a History, so you can see what changed and restore an older version.
Story so far
The whole book, in one recap.
Paige writes a “Story so far” entry from your chapters and keeps it up to date as the book grows. It is there when you come back after a week away. You can turn the updates off at any time.
Consistent
Chapter 30 remembers chapter 3.
Paige reads your Story Bible before she writes, so eye colours, names and old promises stay put. If the recap and your chapters ever disagree, she goes with your chapters and your own entries.
Already keeping notes?
Where do you keep track now?
What changes
- Your notes sit next to your chapters, and Paige reads them before she writes.
- New characters and places get suggested for you as chapters come in.
- Paste your entries in, split by a line of three dashes, and they land as separate entries.
And the small things
- Hide a folder from PaigePark old ideas or future plans in a folder Paige doesn’t read.
- Import what you haveCodex exports, character cards, JSON or pasted text.
- Export to WordYour whole Bible as one document, with portraits and the recap if you want them.
Questions
What is a story bible?
It is the reference for your book: who your characters are, where things happen, the rules of your world and where each plot thread is going. In WriteWithPaige it sits next to your chapters, and Paige reads it before she writes.
Do I have to fill it in myself?
No. As your chapters come in, Paige picks out new characters, places and facts and suggests them in the Paige noticed list. You can also add or write any entry yourself.
Will Paige change entries without asking?
Only if you tell her to. Pick Suggest changes (the default), Update automatically, or Only when I ask. Lock an entry and Paige never edits it or suggests changes to it, in any setting.
What is “Story so far”?
A recap of your book that Paige writes from your chapters and keeps up to date. If the recap and your chapters ever disagree, Paige goes with your chapters and your own entries. You can turn the updates off in your story’s settings.
Can I undo a change to an entry?
Yes. Every entry has a History. Pick an older version and restore it. Your current text is saved to History first, so a restore can be undone too.
Can I bring my notes from another tool?
Yes. You can import a Novelcrafter codex export, character cards, a JSON file, or entries pasted as text. Import only adds entries. It never rewrites one you already have.
Is the Story Bible on the free plan?
Yes. The Story Bible comes with every plan, including Free.
