Tracked changes

An edit pass marks what it would cut and what it would add, right in your text. Keep the changes you like and apply just those, or accept them all. Nothing touches your chapter until you say so.
Fixes and notes
It fixes the small things. It flags the big ones.
Typos, grammar, echoed words, filter words and stock phrasing come back as fixes. Pacing, showing versus telling and flat dialogue come back as notes beside the passage. The rewrite stays yours.

Your names. Your rules.
Names in your Story Bible are never flagged as typos. The pass follows the style rules and banned phrases you set, and anything you mark “Not a mistake” or Ignore stays quiet next time. Each chapter also gets numbers: sentence length, adverbs, passive voice, dialogue and reading grade.

Questions
What does an edit pass change versus just flag?
An edit pass fixes grammar, spelling, punctuation, repeated words, filter words like “felt” and “saw”, and stock AI-sounding phrases. Each fix is a tracked change you accept or reject. Bigger things like pacing, showing versus telling, and flat dialogue come back as notes. Edit Mode never rewrites those for you. It shows you where to look.
Do I keep control over what actually changes?
Yes. Nothing is applied until you say so. Open View changes to see each change, keep the ones you like, and apply just those. Or accept them all, or dismiss the lot.
Does it work on a manuscript I already wrote elsewhere?
Yes. Import a Word file (.docx), PDF, EPUB or plain text, and split it into chapters. Every chapter can then get an edit pass, wherever you drafted it.
What’s in the whole-book Book Report?
The Book Report is on paid plans. It reads every chapter and gives you notes for each one, the same prose numbers for each chapter, the issues that keep coming back across the book, phrases you repeat from chapter to chapter, and a short summary.
Is my manuscript private?
Yes. Your work is saved to your account so it survives a closed tab and syncs across devices. Nobody reads your drafts, and your content is never sold or used to train models.
How many edit passes do I get?
Free includes 1 edit pass a day. Plus includes 10, Pro 25, Ultra 50, and Business 75 per seat. Quick actions on a selection (Tighten, Smooth flow, Vary sentences, Fix grammar, Punch up dialogue) are counted apart from full passes.
Does this replace a human editor?
No, and it’s better you hear that up front. Think of it as the pass before the editor. It clears the mechanical issues and points at the prose problems, so the round you pay a person for can go to the judgment calls a human editor is best at.
Does it work for romance and other genres, not just literary fiction?
Yes. It edits the chapter in front of it the same way whatever the genre: romance, fantasy, thriller and everything in between.
