Why writers switch

You already know the story

A ghostwriter's fee pays for turning your idea into pages. If the story is clear in your head, Paige can do that drafting with you, chapter by chapter.

You want to stay the author

You choose what happens in every chapter and rewrite whatever does not sound like you. The book is yours.

Pay monthly, stop any time

A ghostwritten novel is a four- or five-figure fee paid up front. WriteWithPaige is free to start, paid plans begin at $20/month, and you can stop whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

Should I hire a ghostwriter or use AI to write my book?

Hire a ghostwriter if you have the budget but no time, or need someone to interview you and do research. Use an AI co-writer like Paige if you know the story, want to stay the author, and can spend time reading and steering each chapter.

How much does a ghostwriter cost for a novel?

Reedsy's 2026 data puts most novels at $3,500 to $18,000, or about 15 to 21 cents a word. Nonfiction costs more: in a 2024 survey by the ASJA and Gotham Ghostwriters, a quarter of ghostwriters charged at least $100,000 for their last nonfiction manuscript.

Can AI replace a ghostwriter?

For drafting a story you already know, often yes. For memoir and nonfiction that depend on interviewing you, finding the shape of a life and judging what to leave out, a skilled human still does what software cannot. Many ghostwriters now use AI for parts of the job too.

Do I have to disclose that a book was written with AI?

On Amazon KDP, yes, if AI generated the text. KDP requires authors to tell Amazon about AI-generated text, images or translations when they publish, even after substantial editing. Text you wrote yourself and only edited or brainstormed with AI counts as AI-assisted and needs no disclosure. Other platforms set their own rules.

Who owns the copyright?

With a ghostwriter, the contract usually assigns it to you. With AI, the US Copyright Office's January 2025 report says text generated wholly by AI is not protected and prompts alone are not authorship, while your own writing, edits and arrangement can be. Ask a lawyer about your case.

I'm a ghostwriter. Is this for me?

It can be. WriteWithPaige gives each client book its own private project, keeps the client's voice in a Muse, and exports the manuscript under the client's name. See writewithpaige.com/ai-for-ghostwriters.
